Hall church in sandstone in Late Gothic style, erected on a former cemetery. Classified monument.
This classified village centre with its church, parish house and castle is located next to the Brussels-Ostend highway. The Saint Godard parish church is a classicistic building of brick and sandstone built in the 18th century.
From the beginning of the 12th century, this church was a dependency of the Saint Bavo cathedral in Ghent. After the French Revolution, it temporarily became the principal church but in 1808 it became once again a dependency of Hamme. Saint Gorik has been an independent parish since 1825. The church is well worth a visit.
Mollem’s Saint Stephen’s altar has been a dependency of the Abby of Affligem since the first half of the 12th century. The present church, a homogenous classicistic building made of bricks and sandstone, replaces a former three-naved small church with square eastern tower.
This small village church is a protected monument with a walled cemetery erected on the axis of the bent Asse-Bollebeek road, where the road forks off to Zellik.
This Late Gothic church, rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries, was dedicated to John the Baptist. The oldest part of the building dates from 1535. In 1917, the church was enlarged and restored in Neo Gothic style.
Besides the different historic sites, the commune is home to many beautiful places. Nine signposted walking trails have been mapped out by the municipal administration in collaboration with local walking groups.
